10-seat Harley Davidson – Bonduel to Germany

Waste of money or motorcycles?
Steve Hopkins has built the 10 seat and seven engine motorcycle. The motorcycle is 25 feet long, and can seat up to 10 people. The weight of motorcycle is 3,000 pounds and with a full crew it becomes to 5,000 pounds.

What Steve wanted to do is present different types of engines that Harley Davidson made starting from 1903. The motorcycle has all seven engines that Harley Davidson has ever made. They are the following engines, F-Head IOE, Flathead, Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead, Evolution, and Twin Cam (present) . The 10-seat motorcycle, which does run, sits in Hopkins restaurant next to his motorcycle shop in Bonduel.

We all see that Hopkins is passionate Harley Davidson enthusiast. However, to us the style, comfort, and look just did not cut it.

Take a look at the video, and tell us what you think.

Remember to Wear Your Leathers

We all know to wear full set of leather while riding a motorcycle. Which are jacket, gloves, pants/chaps, and boots. Don’t forget helmet, even though it is not leather. Leather can protect your skin from nasty road burn or scratches; it will save your life in most cases. Don’t feel weird about wearing leather!

We have found a cool video that shows what we mean.

Top Gear Deadly 720

We are back after hurricane Sandy, check out our latest reports on news in the motorcycle world.

With this stunt completed by Top Gear crew, they have earned their way into the Guinness Book of World Records by being the first to complete a double loop on a motorcycle. The deadly 720 was done in front of live audience, and the rumors are that they have not practiced before the run. You may recall that the same team pulled off the same stunt with a four wheeled buggy. The stunt took place in South Africa. Gary Hoptrough was anxious of tackling that 720 deadly stunt on a KTM dirt bike. Check out the video of the stunt below.

Q: Do you think that this is really Double Loops?
A: We kind of disagree, due to the spacing between the two loops. The loops should be connected for it to be Double Loop stunt.

Tips on Polishing Chrome On a Motorcycle

We all want to have the shiniest chrome to show off.  Every biker will spend good two hours on polishing his motorcycle, this will include cleaning, tuning and waxing. Chrome plays a real role in motorcycles. With our tips we can help you get that shine on your motorcycle.

Purchase either high quality chrome polish such as turtle wax, or Meguiar’s, which both can be found at your local AutoZone, PepBoys, or Strauss auto.

Before applying any wax on the chrome, make sure to clean the area or surface that you will apply the polish to. After cleaning it let’s say from grease with water and soap, make sure to dry the surface for better waxing or polishing options.

Never apply chrome polish directly on the surface of your motorcycle. Apply it to a rag, and work with small areas at a time.

Polishing chrome in hard to reach areas can be difficult task, it might not always go the way you want it to go. However, one suggestion that we found helpful was, taking piece of wood or metal and putting a rag on it, and try to reach into those places. However, never use sharp objects, or you will be faced with scratched chrome.

Spokes and other small parts can take time to polish, make sure to take your time don’t rush otherwise your job will look pretty bad.

Bikers Helping – One for all, all for one

The title bring me to two part story that I have seen happen over the time of two months. Bikers do help out a lot in their communities specially with church. One day me and my friends were passing by a moll in Pennsylvania, and we have noticed a guy bullying another guy. It took only seconds for us to notice that the guy needed help. We have turned and started walking towards the bully, he was too busy to notice us walking towards his direction. Just when we were about to cross the street to help the poor guy, we saw 4 bikers ride up pretty fast to the scene. They slowly got off their bikes, just like tough guys. Went up to the bully picked him up and said couple words to him, which I will not say here. Than the biker put down bully and bully just ran away. They asked the guy if he was OK, and he was speech less for the good deed that the bikers have done. Since we were in our bikers outfits we decided to come up to the other bikers and say hello, and thank them for the good deed they have done.

We got into talking, and what we have found out is that they were not friends with the guy that was getting bullied or with the bully. As you can see good deeds happen, by them self. It makes me believe that bikers have a huge influence on each other. If one will go for it the other one will as well. One for all, all for one.

The message I am trying to get across is if we all would step up we would be able to prevent more than just one person.

Tips on Motorcycle Chain Maintenance

Most of us just ignore the chain on our motorcycle, however it requires just as much attention as other gears on your ride. You may think that chains are not important but they play a huge role in motorcycle riding. Quick fact is that a real biker has his bike polished and maintained away from all weird noises. By doing our little steps you will be able to avoid broken chain, and caught chain in the rear wheel.

Tip 1 – O Rings

O Rings play important role in your bike. O ring chains should be lubricated inside every 500 miles of riding.

Tip 2 – Lubrication

There are tons of lubricants available for your motorcycle, for example foam wax, foaming lube etc. Always read the back of the bottle to find out what the lubricant can do for you. Pick the one that suits your best needs.

Tip 3 – How to

You should lubricate your chain in two locations, by spraying the majority of the lube on the inside of the chain. This will force the lube into chain while riding.

Tip 4 Too tight / loose

The chain must be adjusted to exact requirements of your motorcycle. Grab that manual and you will be able to find the exact  requirements. However, in general guidelines allow for about 1 to 1.5 inches of slack. Remember not to adjust it too tight.

So basically you have to lubricate your chain often, to avoid any weird sounds or brakes in the chain.
