Indian Motorcycles Plans To Show Up In India And China

The 2013 has been a big year for Indian Motorcycle and Harley Davidson. However, I do believe that Indian steered up some of the fame from Harley Davidson 110th Anniversary. As we get close to the release of new Indian Chief in 2014, Indian does not plan to stop just there. They are currently planning out their move to Indian and China. What we were not expecting is for them to make the move so soon. Under the management of Polaris, Indian is looking to catch up to Harley and steal more than half of Harley’s market. We all know that Harley has a strong presence in Indian and has been there already for 3 years, and is starting to make couple of Harley models in India.

New 2014 Indian Chief Motorcycle Sneak Peek

The long wait for the new Indian Motorcycle is even longer. The expected date for the new Indian Chief to be revealed is August between 5th and 11th of 2013. However, the specific day has not been provided by the company yet. As we all know August is the month of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Indian Motorcycles plans to reveal the bike during the rally. As many of motorcycle enthusiasts celebrate with Indian and patiently wait for the new bike, I have found a sneak peek video provided by Indian Motorcycles to keep us wondering.

Choice Is Coming To American Motorcycles?

Since the whole turnaround of Indian Motorcycles is coming stronger and better, we start seeing things like Thunder Stroke 111 Engine, and much more. But let’s skip away from that since most of us saw this at Daytona Bike Week. Now I want your attention more towards Indian Motorcycles slogan that is being used with the campaign. The slogan is “Choice is Coming to American Motorcycles.” What does this mean? It is hard to predict the outcome of the message, but it has something to do with the new Thunder Stroke engine. We know that the engine will be available for the 2014 of Indian Motorcycles lineup, that is only 7 months away from the new engine. Or I might be wrong, and Indian has prepared something totally different, and unexpected by fans. However, I am sure that there is something behind that slogan, which we don’t know.

Flash Back to Daytona Bike Week

If you have missed Daytona Bike Week this year, you can still catch up next year. However, you missed a lot of fun! For example, Indian Motorcycles showing of their new Thunder Stroke 111, and Harley Davidson showing of their new addition to Harley Motorcycles, which is Breakout. There are tons of more events that you have missed. There is always next year, for now enjoy this great selection of Daytona Bike Week 2013 pictures provided by Jack Mcintyre & Chopper Dave from BikerPics.org.

BikerPics.org Pictures

What I really love about BikerPics.org is not only that they have the best, hottest pictures from events but they know how to have a great time. Recently I have noticed that BikerPics.org offers E-Magazines and that grabbed my attention, so I gave my eyes glance at “The Pre Bike Week Issue”. The issue left me speechless, it was harder to take my eyes of motorcycles than the babes. I strongly suggest checking out E-Magazines at BikerPics.org, you will not be sorry that you spend that 10 minutes feasting your eyes on their magazines. FYI… a new issue came out March 15th, and its packed with even better pictures than the first issue.

Another cool event that has happened was Vince & Amanda engagement at Bike Week 2013! Vince proposed to Amanda, and she had no idea what was coming her way. Check out the video below.

Like I said, in the beginning next year is your year to ride on streets of Daytona Beach.  A big thank you to BikerPics.org for keeping up with events at Daytona Bike Week 2013, and for sharing really cool pictures, and videos. I know you want to see more of Daytona Bike Week 2013, that is why I am inviting you to check out BikerPics.org YouTube Channel!

The Spirit of Munro Powered by Thunder Stroke 111 Engine

Indian Motorcycle company is taking a huge step forward, I have to say that I am impressed, with their actions. As we have mentioned in our previous posts, that Harley will have competition rolling in, and Polaris is not wasting any time to get Victory Motorcycle, and Indian Motorcycles out on the road. Recently Victory Motorcycles introduced their huge trust to bikers. Victory Motorcycles offers bring it back plan, and receive money back; read more here.

Indian Motorcycle

On Saturday evening March 8th, 2013, after presenting thunder stroke 111 to everyone at Daytona Bike Week; Indian Motorcycles had another great surprise announced to the crowd gathered at Dirty Harry’s on Daytona Main Street. Burt Munro motorcycle will be powered by the new Thunder Stroke 111 engine.

Indian Motorcycle

For those who don’t know who Burt Munro is I strongly suggest watching, “The World’s Fastest Indian” movie. It is one of the best motorcycle movies, with no doubt it is a must see before end of 2013. The fact that everyone should know about Burt Munro is that he set a world record at Bonneville in 1967.

Indian Motorcycle

Going back to the motorcycle, Spirit of Munro is fully custom build, all metal tribute to the racers and technicalities during the making of history. Spirit of Munro is a runner, not a display bike, which is great news for Indian Motorcycle fans. The bike was build with help of Jeb Scolman of Jeb’s Metal and speed in Long Beach, California.

As I was browsing around for more news on Indian Motorcycles, I have stumbled on news that the Spirit of Munro is currently on display at the Daytona International Speedway every day of Daytona Bike Week, and it will take part in the Indian Motorcycle Spring Dash lap of Daytona 200 on March 16th, 2013. Indian Motorcycle Unveiled The Thunder Stroke 111

So as I was sitting at the computer staring at the new engine, I have wondered what story is behind this engine, and yet Indian Motorcycles have surprised me by adding really cool history video of the engine and Indian Motorcycles. Star Teases New Bike

I hope everyone knows who Star is, and that they are part of Yamaha’s cruiser brand. Star is teasing new machine scheduled to be unveiled March 9th. However, no one knows if Star will be in Daytona; they would lose too much exposure if they would miss Daytona. So connecting the dots, we have more action on our hands. If Star decided to unveil their new bike at Daytona Beach , than Indian Motorcycles won’t be happy. The fight between Harley Davidson 110th Anniversary, Indian Motorcycles, and Star Motorcycles, has just started, and we are not even half way into the year. So imagine what those 3 companies will bring to the table later in the year. I am looking forward to some action between them, and to see who will get more exposure out of the 3 companies.

Watch this teaser video to get a good grasp of the next Stars Motorcycle.

Harley Davidson Rentals

Lately I have noticed that Harley Davidson is advertising their rental dealer locations more often. Harley Davidson is celebrating the 110th Anniversary, and this might be a marketing tactic that is used with the anniversary. However, I do admit that they have locked in over 220,000 hours of riding and excess of 50 million miles, which is 80.5 million km. So far I do believe that Harley Davidson is stealing the spot light from Indian Motorcycles. Harley Davidson has 224 authorized rental locations in US and Canada, some of 121 in other 18 countries.

With a rental of Harley Davidson you get, Harley Davidson helmet, rain gear, short term luggage storage, and 24 hour roadside assistance. In order for you to be able to rent the motorcycle you need to be at least 21 and have A license. I don’t think we need to mention that you do have to be able to hold heavyweight motorcycles.

New Indian Motorcycle Engine Will Be Revealed

I was browsing some of biker communities and I have stumbled on our friend Cyril Huze blog. We have been hearing a lot about the new Indian Motorcycle engine. However, no one has the details of how it will look or work yet. All we were able is to hear the engine on iPhone or Android devices. The new Indian Motorcycle engine will be revealed to the public at Daytona Bike Week. Yup, the Daytona Bike Week has just got even better. The official day is Saturday, March 9th, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time at the Dirty Harry’s bar on Main Street in Daytona Beach.

This event will be the one everyone will remember about Indian Motorcycles. The new era of Indian Motorcycle begins. Remember when at the beginning of the year we wrote a post about 2013 being the Indian Motorcycle year? Well, so far it is that way and Indian Motorcycles does not plan on just stopping there.

Mark Saturday, March 9th in your calendar today!

Indian Motorcycle Rides Mobile App

We have written about 2013 being the Indian Motorcycle year, and how they plan to expand. Yesterday, Indian Motorcycle announced availability of its enhanced Indian Rides mobile app. The app allows for Indian Motorcycle fans to engage with all new Indian Motorcycle Company. The app was created and devoted to motorcycle enthusiasts.

Features Included:

  • Rev the all new Indian Motorcycle engine
  • Display your current location
  • Weather conditions, forecasts and advisories for any location
  • Find and contact Indian Motorcycle Dealers
  • Search for Gas stations, Restaurants, and Lodging
  • Save your way points along your route
  • Automatic map caching so maps can be viewed while on the trail or outside of data coverage
  • Share saved routes to Facebook, and Twitter
  • Export route data to GPX or CSV

Overall the functionality of the app is really cool, I have downloaded the app and test it. It does what it says, and it does not freeze. The best part of this app is the ability to rev the engine of a Indian Motorcycle. I have not done any routes but did plan points, and they work perfectly. The app was really created more towards traveling and planning your routes.

There are a lot of features they could have added, like line up of 2013 Indian Motorcycles, news feed from websites, or top stories to allow fans to keep up with the latest on Indian Motorcycles.

***The app is available for Android and Apple devices.
